I know that British tea culture is somehow famous, but I just want to point out, that East Frisia has it’s very own and very awesome tea culture, too.
Moreover, we have the highest tea consumption in the world (300l/person/year).
And even though it’s probably not important, one should also mention that our tea is much stronger than the British version. So one could say that Frisians are hardcore tea drinkers.

And yes, this fills me with a very weird kind of pride.

Rinse a pot with hot water. Then put a teaspoon of a strong tea blend containing mostly Assam per cup into the pot, plus on extra teaspoon. Fill the pot half full with boiling water. Let stand for three to four minutes, then fill up the pot with hot water. Pour the tea through a sieve into a serving pot.

Put a good chunk of rock sugar into a tea cup. Pour the tea into the cup – the sugar will make a crackling sound. Add a tespoon full of dairy cream into the cup. Do not stir! Drink hot. You will experience three zones: First a zone of concentrated tea taste, than a zone of mild, creamy tea taste, and a final zone of strongly sweetened tea. If the rock sugar has not completely dissolved, you can reuse it for another cup.
