“No, no, I insist! Ah!” Kamimatsu grabbed the toy he was looking for- actually, it wasn’t a toy. At all.
It was a basic chia pet.
“I got it! Ooh, since I got a pet, how about you get one?” He grabbed an old version of a tamogotchi egg.
He made them come all this way… for a chia pet? A stupid sheep that you grew plants on? That was what needed such immediate attention?! They resisted the urge to toss the box across the store, shaking a little. When they were handed the Tamagotchi, they looked at it in disinterest. They still made these things? Pairine used to have one, a few years back. Sighing, they nodded and held the egg. Might as well let him buy it and get this trip over with.
“Yay!” Kami smiled more as he ran to the cash register to quickly pay for the items.
“We can go now.” He slowly stopped smiling.
When the two were out of the store, Kamimatsu pulled down the hood of his ridiculous outfit, revealing the word ‘dumbass’ written in black sharpie on his forehead. Giving a weak smile, he scratched his head.
“Sorry for dragging you out here…eheh…”
Shadow stared at the writing on his head, their eyes narrowing. Did he put that there himself? Why the hell would someone do that? They shrugged at his words, eyes not leaving the writing.
“It’s whatever,” they muttered, toying with the tamagotchi in their hand, “no big deal.”
“Ah, um…I’ll…I’ll go home, now. I’m really sorry for bothering you.” Kamimatsu bowed and turned around, pulling the hood back over his head.
He held out his phone and took a selfie of him holding the chia pet, forcing a smile.
