Choromatsu was the first to notice Kamimatsu’s change in behavior. Or maybe Karamatsu did as well, but he never said anything. He was far too kind to speak, and barely interacted with Kamimatsu as it is.
Choromatsu couldn’t stand to see someone part of the family being so out of character. No one liked Kamimatsu, that was for sure, but Choromatsu could tell Kamimatsu was trying hard. But now…?
He’ll have to go try to talk to Kamimatsu. He gave one of his goons the order to fetch Kamimatsu to his office, where he was working. Once Kamimatsu appeared in front of him, Choromatsu placed away the papers, gesturing to the seat in front of his desk.
“Take a seat, Kamimatsu. This would be brief if you cooperate. Now, just asking, you left for a trip to Osaka. I’ll like to know the reason why, and your report on what happened over there. As per usual, each and every detail would be nice, verbal or typed.”
“A trip to Osaka for personal vacation.” he said bluntly, sighing. “I had gotten into a few fights during the vacation and I have a lost a lot of money.”
“A lot of money? Strange… you rarely even use that much anyway. How much, and where did you get it from? If it’s from our reserves, you are going to have to work even harder to get it back. And as for personal vacation… I was not aware of it.” Choromatsu sighed, typing something into his computer and returning his gaze to Kamimatsu.
“This is unlike you to take a break without a notice or for you to get into a fight outside of the family orders. Is there something wrong or that you are hiding from me, Kamimatsu?”
“Er..!” Kamimatsu suddenly sat upright, panic flashing through his face.
“I..” He gripped at his shirt, hands shaking. He was definitely hiding something important.
“The money…c…came from…m-myself…” He looked away from Choromatsu, visibly shaking all over his body now.
“Your own? Where did it come from? I wasn’t aware of that.” Choromatsu’s voice was even, calm, as he stared at the seventh brother. He seemed to be hiding something something big. Kamimatsu was nervous.
Strange.
“And… How much is it? How much did you lose? And picking a fight seemed out of the ordinary, what really happened, Kamimatsu? What is it that you hide? I would rather hear the truth from you, you and I know I can very well head down to Osaka myself to find out what happened. And if I do, the consequences may not be as lenient as they are now. I do hope you can speak up, that much I can trust?”
“I had a kidney sold…” Kamimatsu tried hi a best to form his words while trying not to cry.
“I went to Osaka to meet up with a man who took a kidney in exchange for money…” He stood up and leaned over the desk, crying heavy.
“But the man beat me up and took the kidney and the money…!” suddenly at once. Kamimatsu burst into sobbing, reaching over for support.
“They won’t leave me alone unless I pay them…I’m broke!!’
BAM!
All the papers and items on Choromatsu’s table flew up and clattered back, his pens rolling onto the floor, but Choromatsu ignored it. He was standing up, his hands on the table, breathing hard.
“You what? You did what?” Choromatsu couldn’t believe his ears. Kamimatsu sold a kidney?
Oh he did not just get robbed and beaten up after he lost a kidney. No one touched his family. No one. He picked up his gun and his whip at the side, taking a few deep breaths to calm down.
“… So they want payment? Then I’ll give it to them.” Choromatsu smiled sweetly at Kamimatsu, going over to hug him. “It’s okay, I’ll make sure I’ll give them what they deserve. You stay here and be good. You might be needed for an operation though…” His eyes were smiling as well, but behind it he was angry. So angry. He picked up his phone, talking into it as if talking to a loved one.
“Oh, yes please! Look up on those illegal organ stuff! I’m not mad at all! Oh, you mean that? Don’t worry about it, I just forgot the name. Silly me, right?” He placed down his phone, patting Kamimatsu.
“Don’t do it again, though, Kamimatsu. Don’t worry about money, I’ll make sure we always have some. As for them…” Choromatsu laughed happily.
“I’ll kill them.”
Kamimatsu knew this was going to happen. This is why he tried to keep it secret. He didn’t want any more problems. But it was too late now.
“…alright, Choromatsu. I’m sorry I got you involved in this mess..” he sighed.
