Ok so I want to give Dirk s present for his birthday but I don’t know how to give gifts.
Whenever I’m close enough to someone while holding an item, they just talk to me. And I leave a little space and I throw the item. Please help, Dirk is my friendo.

Did you talk to them before that? I think in ToTT, they’ll talk to you normally once before accepting your gift.

Otherwise, have you been talking to them lately? They won’t accept gifts if you haven’t talked to them for a few days.

Is the item no longer fresh? Villagers won’t accept items if they’re not fresh.
